Students are making job cards!
These colorful, creative creature drawings will be so fun to look at all year, while serving an important function in the art room. Each week, I draw names at random from the "Need A Job" pocket in each class's job folder (see pictures below.)
Those students are assigned different jobs for that day in the art room (see the pictures below.) Getting a job is very exciting for the students! It gives them a sense of purpose and responsibility in the art room. When class is over, their card will go into the "Had A Job" pocket. Once all students have had a job, we start over!
You may have noticed the animal names on the job folders! Each grade is a different group of animals, and each class is a specific part of that animal family. Here's how they are divided up:
Kinder - Turtles; 1st grade - Small Mammals; 2nd Grade - Birds; 3rd Grade - Monkeys and Apes; 4th Grade - Lizards; and 5th Grade - the Big Cats!
